While not a mainline entry of to the series and taking place in colonial America (much like Assassin's Creed 3), Liberation manages to bring something new to the discerning PC and home console audience in the form of a persona system. You're Aveline, an assassin who can disguise herself in the garb of a lady of high society, a slave or the usual costume of an assassin, hood et al. Each have their own pros and cons allowing you to infiltrate different parts of New Orleans with ease.
Though the persona system sounds great and plays well for most part, we wish that you had a greater choice to accomplish missions by switching between them rather than the game forcibly making you use one to finish a mission.
This aside, it has what you'd expect from an Assassin's Creed title, a wide, open world and quests galore. However, it has only about ten hours of gameplay.
In terms of graphics, it scales nicely on a big screen what with originally being a game for the PS Vita. Not on par with Assassin's Creed IV but good enough to get the job done. Liberation is a good way to keep you busy till the next mainline game is out.
